"Last
Friday, a banjo-acoustic guitar duo played the Rocket Lounge, while the
show's opener, the Creepy Puppet Theater, lived up to it's name.
Performing in an old-timey marionette stage, the group presented
"The sad story of Fifi and Pierre," a fractured fairy tale in
which profane, anatomically exaggerated puppets spoke in obnoxious
French accents, and engaged in acts of hilarious cruelty. Picture
characters from a Toulouse-Lautrec painting as re-imagined by R.
Crumb."
